Bio

Jacopo Ardolino (b. 1986) is an Italian director and photographer whose work blends cinematic vision with a deep sensitivity for storytelling.
He holds a degree in Literature and Philosophy from Roma Tre University, and simultaneously trained as a Film Industry Technician at the Roberto Rossellini State Institute of Cinematography in Rome.

In 2019, he wrote, produced, and directed To Her, an experimental short film that earned multiple international awards. In the United States, it received Best Short – Silent/Experimental at the Queen Palm International Film Festival, Best Experimental Film at the Los Angeles Film Awards, and Best Director (Male) at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles. American critics praised the film as “Brilliant concept, and excellent execution!” (LAFA).

Across Europe, To Her won the Rivegauche-Festival Special Award for Best Italian Experimental Short at the 7th Firenze Film Corti Festival, and Best Short Film at the VIFF Vienna Independent Film Festival.

Later that year, Jacopo founded Morcego Films, a Milan-based video production company.

Since 2021, he has been a member of AIR3 – Italian Directors Guild, and since 2025, he has also been part of the Writers Guild Italia.

Today, Jacopo lives and works in Milan, continuing to explore the boundaries between photography and cinema through a body of work that seeks beauty, truth, and emotional depth.

Work

He has collaborated with leading cultural and entertainment institutions, including Rai – Radiotelevisione Italiana, Fondazione Romaeuropa, Federculture, Fondazione Cinema per Roma, Teatro Manzoni, Radar Concerti, 45Gradi, Carosello Records, Virgin Records, and Universal Music Italia. His work extends to celebrated musicians such as Ghemon, Mecna, Joan Thiele, L I M, Wrongonyou, Frenetik & Orange, Eva Pevarello, and Nicolò Carnesi.

He has overseen the direction of music videos for Ghemon, Mecna, and other notable figures in Italian music.

His photography has been featured in Vanity Fair Italia, Rolling Stone Italia, Urban Magazine, HarperCollins Italia, Riders Magazine, La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera Web, and IoDonna Web.

In 2019, he wrote and directed To Her, an experimental short film that found particular success abroad, earning multiple awards. In 2022, he wrote, produced, and directed his second short film, Morning Glory.
